Berkeley Scoutmaster steps down after 43 years
A great article in today’s Contra Costa Times about a devoted Scouter. Enjoy!
BERKELEY — Francis “Bosky” Frederick never had any children of his own, unless, of course, you count the hundreds he helped shape as the longtime leader of Troop 6 in the Boy Scouts of America.
It’s those boys who made it all worthwhile, he said, of his four decades as Scoutmaster of Troop 6 in Berkeley.
After 43 years, Frederick, 72, handed the reins over at the start of the new year.
New Troop 6 Scoutmaster Mike Edenborough said Frederick, who was his Scoutmaster when he joined in 1976, leaves big shoes to fill.
