Memorial Day Flag Planting

Date: Saturday, 5/28/22 9:00am – 11:00am
Location: San Francisco National Cemetery
Meet: 8:45am 1 Lincoln Blvd San Francisco
Cost: Free
Attire: Full Class A uniform (sash may be worn if you wish)
Bring: Water bottle and sun protection
Required: RSVP and Permission slip May 24th

Scouts are invited to honor our US veterans this Memorial Day weekend by planting flags at grave sites at the San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio.

Please arrive by 8:45 a.m.  All leaders and scouts must be in full CLASS A uniform for the event. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the service at 11:00am.

Carpooling is encouraged; parking inside the cemetery is limited. Please plan ahead – the walk from the parking lot to the Cemetery will take ~8-10 minutes.

Scouts must be healthy and symptom free, please refer to this CDC page for guidance.

Conservation Service Project

What: City of San Ramon Parks Make Life Better
Where: Bellingham Square Park, 1281 Bellingham Square, San Ramon (parents/scouts will need to coordinate transportation to/from the park)
Date: Saturday, 7/21/2018 9am-12pm
What to Wear: Class B Uniform and closed toe shoes, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunblock)
What to Bring: Work Gloves and a filled bottle of water
What You’ll Earn: 3 Hours of Conservation-related Service for Life Scout Rank Requirement #4
Required: SR Volunteer Application and Permission slip due 6/26/2018

Kiwanis Danville 4th of July Parade

IMG_3654Date: Tuesday, July 4, 2018
– 0600-0645: Breakfast sponsored by the Kiwanis Club at Pete’s Brass Rail
– 0645: Service Project #1: Meet at the Train Depot parking lot to distribute clean trash/recycling receptacles along the route (Class A)
– 0845: Meet at beginning of parade route (Railroad x Hartz) to march in the PARADE – Class A Uniforms for Scouts & Leaders, Parents can dress patriotically
– 1100: Service Project #2: Meet again at beginning of parade route (Railroad x Hartz) to pick up trash/recycling receptacles (Class B)
– 12 noon: Lunch sponsored by the Kiwanis Club at Pete’s Brass Rail
Cost: Free
Attire: Full Class A for Service Project #1 and Class B for Service Project #2
Required: Permission slip due June 19th

Sycamore School Service Project


Date & Time:
 April 3rd (Tuesday), 9am – 3pm (Spring Break Week!)

Location: Sycamore Valley Elementary School Black Top (map)
Meet & Pickup: Sycamore Valley Elementary School
Attire: Wear working clothes, no BSA uniform
Bring: Safety hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle
Cost: None
Lunch: Pizza lunch will be provided
Required: Permission slip due March 26th

Scouting For Food

Dates:
– November 4 (Saturday) – 9am – 11am – Drop off Door HangersSFF2016
– November 11 (Saturday) – 9am – 11am – Pick up Food Donations
Meet: 190 Woodranch Circle, Danville, CA (Woodranch Club House)
Return: Scouts will be dropped off at home about one-half hour after the event

$0 (no charge)
Attire: Class A, good walking shoes
Bring: Water
Required: Signed Permission slip turned in by 10/31/2017
Optional: Online registration: door hanger distribution or donation collection

Festival Around the World (Cancelled)

Date: Friday, September 29, 2017
Meet: 4:30pm @ Sycamore Valley Elementary School
Pickup: 7pm @ Sycamore Valley Elementary School
Cost: $0
Attire: Class A
Required: Permission slip due Tuesday September 26, 2017

This is a BSA Adopt-A-School service project. The Troop will be helping a Cub Scout Pack with Flag Ceremony, checking in guests, emptying trash cans and passing out food samples. This will give you 2 hours toward Service Project Requirements.
