Scouting for Food

SFF2016

November 6 (Saturday) 9am – 11am – Drop off Door Hangers
November 13 (Saturday) 9am – Noon – Drop off (Patrol Competition) and Pick up Food Donations
Meet: 190 Woodranch Circle, Danville (Woodranch Club House)
Return: Scouts will be dropped off at home about one-half hour after the event
Cost: $0 (no charge)
Attire: Class A, good walking shoes
Bring: Water
Troopmaster RSVP: door hanger distribution and/or donation collection

Please support this annual National BSA service project where non-perishable foods are collected for local food banks. We will go door-to-door with informational flyers requesting donations on Saturday November 6th, and collect and deliver the donations to the Bishop Ranch Collection Site on Saturday November 13th. Scouts may choose to participate on either or both days.

This is a great event to bring a friend (1st class requirement 10). Scouts will also earn service hours for rank advancement.

Since our assigned area is large and spread out (roughly 1.5 sq. miles with over 1300 houses), we will need many scouts and drivers to help on both days.

Everyone must be healthy to participate; please review the BSA Pre-Event Checklist. Face coverings must be worn while in vehicles and when you are within 3′ of anyone from outside of your household.

Patrol Competition – With the pandemic and fires, the need for food is great. Scouts, friends, and family are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations (Hover here for Suggestions) on 11/13, Saturday to the Woodranch Clubhouse between 9am – Noon. Let us know your Patrol’s name when dropping off, so the donations count toward your Patrol’s total. The Patrol with the most donated items will win each Patrol member a $5 Jamba Juice gift card.

** Donut breakfast will be provided for participating scouts & parent drivers. **

Contact Mr Sanjeev if you have questions.

Troop Hike at Pinnacles

Date: October 23, 2021
Where: Pinnacles National Park
Meet: 8:00 AM at Bear Gulch Picnic Area, Paicines
Cost: $30 per vehicle (free if you have a National Park Annual Pass)
RSVP: Troopmaster

Join us for a 6 mile-hike at Pinnacles National Park, with about 1700ft of climbing. This is a moderately strenuous hike inside a spectacular National Park! Come prepared for both hot and cold weather. We will start the hike early to avoid heat and parking issues. Dress appropriately (proper hiking shoes are ESSENTIAL!). Troop COVID-19 Protocols will be followed.

Parents are welcome to join us on the hike. This should not be your first hike. You should have done one 5-mile hike before. If scouts would like to carpool, families should work that out on their own. Be sure to bring plenty of water, trail snacks and a sack lunch!
