Highlander and Rim of the Bay Hikes

Take your family on the Highlander or Rim of the Bay hikes! It’s a great way to stay fit, explore the great outdoors, and earn patches. Participation can also help with the Tenderfoot rank and the Backpacking, Camping, and Hiking Merit Badges requirements.

The Highlander program is a series of 14 hikes. The Rim of the Bay program is a series of 6 hikes up local mountain tops. Please click on the patch icons to learn more about these programs.

When you finish a hike, send an email with a photo of your hike to awards@troop805.com. You will receive a center patch for your first hike and a “rocker” that shows the name of the hike. Rockers are awarded for each additional hike completed.

Remember to check online for park closures and follow all park guidelines. During this pandemic, always protect yourself and others in the parks by wearing a face mask and keeping six feet apart. Clean up and pack out any litter you come upon.

Have fun!

Virtual 4th of July Parade

The annual Kiwanis 4th of July Parade will take place on Saturday, July 4th, 2020 from approximately 10am-noon. Due to COVID-19, the parade has gone virtual this year as a livestream event. We will also be showing a pre-parade slideshow of past parade photos, 2020 grad yard signs, and flags from approximately 8am-10am, with the possibility of a surprise guest or two!

The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley has organized and conducted the annual Kiwanis 4th of July Parade in partnership with the Town of Danville since 1975. The parade typically attracts 30,000-40,000 spectators each year and is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate America’s birth. We hope that this year’s live, virtual event will allow even more people in the SF Bay Area and around the country to join us.
