Camp Tamarancho Marksmanship Weekend

Date: Saturday, 10/22/22 7:00am – Sunday, 10/23/22 12:00pm
Location: Camp Tamarancho, 1000 Iron Springs Rd, Fairfax
Meet: 7:00am sharp at Sycamore Park and Ride
Return: 12:00pm at Sycamore Park and Ride
Cost: $50 (Includes campground & shooting fees, plus 3 meals)
Attire: Class A Uniform for Travel & flags. Class B all other times Required: RSVP

Are you ready for some rootin’ tootin’ shootin? Do you want to channel your inner William Tell? Have any partials in archery? Want to throw a Tomahawk, shoot a .22 rifle or use a sling shot? Come join Troop 805 in an action-packed weekend of shooting sports at Camp Tamarancho in Marin.

Parents, we need drivers to get our scouts to and home from the campout. Please let us know if you can help drive either way or both. Thank you!

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Date: Sunday, September 11, 2022
Time: 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Oak Hill Park (3005 Stone Valley Road, Danville)
Attire: Full Class A
Bring: Sunscreen, water, and a hat.
Register: Troopmaster

All uniformed scouts and leaders are invited to participate in this meaningful patriotic ceremony to honor and remember the thousands who lost their lives in one of the most infamous attacks on America.  Scouts help provide integral support to this Remembrance Ceremony by presenting 50 US flags. 

– Parking is available at both MVHS lots located on Stone Valley Road and adjacent to the park.
– This year’s keynote speech will be by Captain R. Smith, titled “9/11 – A Pilot’s Perspective”

78th Anniversary of the Port Chicago Disaster

Help commemorate the sacrifice of our servicemen at the 78th Anniversary of the Port Chicago Naval Magazine Disaster on Saturday, July 16. National Park Services is inviting us to help commemorate the sacrifice of 320 sailors and civilians at Port Chicago on July 17, 1944.

Come learn more about this little known piece of WWII history. The Port Chicago disaster was WWII’s deadliest home-front accident during which 320 men were killed and 360 individuals were injured. This is a great opportunity to complete Citizenship in the Nation requirement 7a.

Memorial Day Flag Planting

Date: Saturday, 5/28/22 9:00am – 11:00am
Location: San Francisco National Cemetery
Meet: 8:45am 1 Lincoln Blvd San Francisco
Cost: Free
Attire: Full Class A uniform (sash may be worn if you wish)
Bring: Water bottle and sun protection
Required: RSVP and Permission slip May 24th

Scouts are invited to honor our US veterans this Memorial Day weekend by planting flags at grave sites at the San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio.

Please arrive by 8:45 a.m.  All leaders and scouts must be in full CLASS A uniform for the event. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the service at 11:00am.

Carpooling is encouraged; parking inside the cemetery is limited. Please plan ahead – the walk from the parking lot to the Cemetery will take ~8-10 minutes.

Scouts must be healthy and symptom free, please refer to this CDC page for guidance.

Lend-a-Hand Service Project

Date: Saturday, 4/23/22 8:00am – 1:00pm
Location: Backyards of Danville seniors
Meet: 8:00am Danville Community Center, 420 Front Street
Return: ~1:00pm Danville Community Center, 420 Front Street
Cost: Free
Attire: Class B shirt w/ long work pants, work gloves, and sun protection
Bring: Full 32oz water bottle, snacks, and a sack lunch
Required: RSVP April 15th, Permission slip and Volunteer Agreement. April 19th

Please join us in celebrating National Volunteer Month this April 23rd for the 18th Annual Lend-a-Hand Day between 8am and approximately 1pm!

We will help our senior neighbors in Danville by providing yard work assistance. Scouts will be able to earn 5 service hours!

Registration is now open on Troopmaster. Please sign up by this Friday, April 15th and submit the Troop permission slip and the Danville Volunteer Agreement to Mr. Screechfield at either the COH or the troop meeting on the 19th.

When completing the Danville Volunteer Agreement, The Organization/Group name is Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley / Troop 805. The contact information and the signature on the 2nd page apply to the scout’s parent. On the upper right corner of page 1, please put your scout’s name under Volunteer Services. Participating adults do not need to fill out the form.

Because we don’t know where we will be heading yet, we need drivers who can participate in the service project!

Meridian District Camporee 2022

Date: Friday, 4/29/22 4:30pm – Sunday, 5/1/22 12:30pm
Location: Rancho Los Mochos Scout Camp (map) – 18 miles SE of Livermore, CA
Meet: 4:30PM sharp Friday 4/29, Sycamore Park & Ride
Return: Sunday 5/1 between 1-2:00pm to scouts’ homes
Cost: $60 for scouts or adults.
Attire: Class A & B. All other clothing, including hats, must either have a scouting logo or plain. No team, insignia or camouflage clothing.
Bring: Bag dinner for Friday, snacks for Saturday
Required: RSVP (include T-shirt size) March 16thT805 Permission Slip April 19th, BSA Medical Form A & BParental Firearms Permission Form, Proof of Vaccination (2 Doses at least 14 days prior to April 29th) or Negative COVID Test within 48 hours of arrival

The Troop Variant Authority (TVA) invites all Units in the Meridian Universe to participate in this exciting Nexus event. We need you to attend the 2022 Camporee to compete in multi-patrol competitions, battle against other variant troops, and help the TVA to restore the Scared Timeline. Be prepared, always!

Enjoy archery, rifle, tomahawks, a cooking competition, and an awesome campfire program!

All scouts should arrive in Full Class A uniform and will be inspected at check-in. Camporee Class B T-shirts will be issued upon our arrival. Don’t forget to provide your shirt size when you RSVP on Troopmaster before March 16th.
