We’ve planned a two-day beginner level OKPIK training trip as an introductory session to your first snow camping experience. This is a prerequisite to the intermediate level outing next winter.

You’ll be learning how to build a snow trench and snow kitchen, and other survival skills in snow. We will sleep in a heated cabin overnight, have a snowshoe hike, sledding and snowball fight in the wilderness of Sierra Nevada Mountains. This two-day outing will be fun, cool (no pun intended), and educational at the same time!
